PS Space key behavior with modifiers

This is valid for Adobe CreativeSuite 1 – PS 8:

  • The default behavior: Space key changes the cursor to the “panning” type(hand). You can move the image in the image window if it is larger then the window. Right click raises context menu: Fit on screen, Actual pixels(zoom 1:1 centered on actual position), Print size.
  • With CTRL key: The mode is changed to ZOOM IN. The cursor changes to magnifier icon. Right click raises context menu: Fit on screen, Actual pixels(zoom 1:1 centered on actual position), Print size, Zoom In, Zoom Out.
  • With ALT key: The mode is changed to ZOOM OUT. The cursor changes to magnifier icon.
  • With SHIFT key: No change.
  • With both modifier keys pressed: ZOOM OUT, ALT overrides CTRL.
  • Interaction with another tools: The only tool which seems to be affected is tool to create rectangles, ellipses or polygons. When you press SPACE during drawing the shape, the drawing process is stopped and you can move the object on the image canvas.
